KODAK awarded AKSIS Turkey with a "Special Gold Award for an Outstanding Achievement in EEMEA " in May 2006 for a project AKSIS realised during December 2005-May 2006 period. AKSIS was chosen to be "The Best Business Partner" by KODAK Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Region among KODAK Document Imaging Business partners, for the sale of over 4000 scanners during the last 6 months.

The major project was realised with Garanti Technology (GT) for the branches of Garanti Bank which is a GE partnership. They bought over 4000 Kodak i40 scanners for their branches and plan to increase the amount to 5000 scanners in 2006. With this project, Garanti Bank aimed to start banking operations at the teller area by scanning the A4 documents, identity cards, driving licences, etc. very safely and fast to be able to incrase the speed and the quality of the transactions to maintain both customer satisfaction and personnel motivation. By this operation, the fotocopy machines will be not used any more, which brings great saving both in time and money.

After quite a long testing period, GT chose Kodak i40 for its ergonomic and user friendly structure for the Garanti Bank project. The major reasons for the choice of Kodak i40 was:

Kodak i40's capability of scanning thick and critical documents, fast and without any problems
After a proven sales service and support provided by AKSIS for the Kodak scanners since 1994.

Garanti Bank which is the leader in banking technology in Turkey achieved its goal of keeping millions of customer content safely and within a very fast reach and usable in its internal business workflows by Kodak i40 scanners which are known to be "Transaction Scanners". By this way, Garanti Bank managed to start the first real paperless branch operation in Turkey.

We believe that the other Turkish banks will follow Garanti Bank in its leadership in starting banking operations at the teller area to be able to have paperless branch operations and to increase their customer satisfaction and personnel motivation.
